MSP raises Pre-School Playgroup concerns with Chief Executive

Nanette Milne, 10/02/2011

Nanette Milne, Conservative MSP for the North East has written to Colin McKenzie, Chief Executive of Aberdeenshire Council to raise concerns regarding the proposed changes to Pre-School Playgroup provision across Aberdeenshire.

Dr Milne and Conservative Councillor for Westhill & District, Cllr Ron McKail met with parents last week.

Nanette Milne, Conservative MSP for the North East said:

“At a meeting with parent representatives from the Pre-School Playgroups, it is obvious that there is significant confusion and concern regarding the future provision of local Pre-School Playgroup.

“Whilst parents clearly wish the Pre-School Playgroup to remain open and supported, what is most important to them is to have clarity about the future so that they can plan for their children’s early year’s education.

“I have written to Colin McKenzie, Chief Executive of Aberdeenshire Council to ask for local parents to be given the facts and for the Council to clarify the situation for them as soon as possible.”
