MSP concern for future of Westhill Delivery Office

Nanette Milne, 03/02/2011

Nanette Milne, Conservative MSP for the North East said:

“I have today written to Royal Mail to seek an urgent meeting regarding the proposed closure of the Royal Mail’s Westhill Delivery Office.

“I have been contacted by a number of constituents who have expressed genuine concerns about the effect that the closure of Royal Mail’s Westhill Delivery Office will have not only on local residents who currently collect parcels and mail which have been undelivered but also the effect this will have on local businesses.

“Under the proposal local residents and businesses will be forced to travel to the Royal Mail’s Aberdeen or Dyce Delivery Offices to collect parcels and mail.

“Given the significant expansion which Westhill has seen in recent years and the proposals to build even more residential and business property in the area I cannot see the common sense of Royal Mail closing the Westhill Delivery Office.”
