Nanette Milne's disappointment at news on Garioch Life Centre development

On the decision to stop the development of the Garioch Life Centre Nanette said:

“This is hugely disappointing news for the local community.

“Having visited the Inverurie Health Centre I know at first hand the pressures currently being experienced by staff and patients at the health centre and the need for local health provision improvements. I hope that the wide ranging review will make sure that all aspects of service delivery are considered and that the local community is consulted and kept informed throughout.

“The growth of Inverurie and other communities in the area has created a significant increase in the need for medical provision and although the decision to not proceed with the development in the current financial climate is understandable the health needs of the local community must be the guiding principal.

“I will be raising the issue with Health Board officials at the next MSP briefing with NHS Grampian.”
